Global WordPress Migration & Support Desk Setup

In this project, I managed a large-scale, multi-year digital transformation and migration project for an international corporation within the pharmaceutical industry. This enterprise-level project involved migrating multiple global country branches over to WordPress while simultaneously architecting, recruiting for, and building a 20-person international Support Service Desk from the ground up to ensure flawless post-launch operations.

Key Objectives

  • Execute an end-to-end infrastructure migration of sensitive data for multiple global branches to WordPress with zero operational downtime.

  • Design and build a fully remote, international Support Service Desk.

  • Handle the complete end-to-end recruitment, hiring, and onboarding process for the new technical team.

My Responsibilities & Leadership Role

As the Lead Project Manager and Team Lead, I wore both technical and operational hats to drive this project from conception to completion:

  • Project Governance: Managed end-to-end digital migrations, ensuring strict adherence to compliance, quality standards, and rigorous corporate timelines.

  • Talent Acquisition & Onboarding: Spearheaded the international recruitment process to vet, hire, and onboard technical and support specialists, scaling the global team to 20 cross-functional members.

  • Workflow Optimization: Streamlined back-office operations and mapped out the internal workflows for the service desk using Agile frameworks to guarantee a high-touch user and client experience.

  • Stakeholder & Client Consultancy: Provided strategic consultancy to corporate stakeholders, bridging the gap between business requirements and technical team execution.

Key Challenges Overcome

  • Regulatory & Data Sensitivity: Operating within the pharmaceutical sector required navigating complex data security and compliance guardrails during the migration phases.

  • Simultaneous Scaling: Balancing intense technical migration deadlines while concurrently running an international recruitment campaign to staff the support desk.

  • Cross-Cultural Team Alignment: Establishing a unified, high-performing team culture across multiple global time zones in a completely remote environment.
